It made me laugh when Kate from Kate takes 5 who runs the Listography challenge every week posted this week. Thinking that no-one would enter. She clearly underestimated the british love of tea and in fact their tea cups or mugs.
I saw it and immediately knew a few of my top contendors. I have my favourite mug and ill use it over and over again because its just…right.
The little things are very important, the feel of the mug, the width of the rim, the decoration, the size….so if you head over to her blog she is actually running a competition now to win some mugs.
Go check it out.
my 5 are:
1.
a new contender but its a keeper.
This one, someone gave me ages ago. I don't even remember who but i like it because its my job and i love babies although its not the nicest mug. Design presides over funtion for sure in this case.
3.
another newbie to the bunch but it just 'feels' right. A cuppa in this one will always make me smile.
4.
this one is our 'uglymug' I dont think i have actually ever used it, it was a wedding gift and its really thick china and actually a very small and uncomfortable mug. OH has it often with expresso. But it warrants a mention 'cos its been with us for so long.
5.
This is one of my favourite mugs (well the Super mum version of it) but sadly mine has broken and i so love the feel of this mug that i will even use my OH's mug. Its the rim and the feel of the cup in cupped hands. Just. Perfect. Pukka.
🙂
I bet you could all come up with your own reasons and loves of the mugs in your cupboard. Come on and join in.
love it, I might just join in ! I love a ‘good mug’. Number 3 is my favourite. I bought that exact one in green for someone recently but really wanted it myself.
Yep – another mugly mug contender there…Like the love birds one though 🙂
Love the coffee mug at the top. The uglymug doeas have a certain charm but not for the first cuppa of the morning methinks.
The ugly mug actually has 5 other friends and came with a jug too. Its a sight i can tell you 🙂
