Obviously this should have been our 'we all went to the airport' post to fly home. But unless you have been under a rock somewhere you won't have missed the volcanic ash mayhem. It was fairly clear that going by coach was going to be our only way of getting home.
It was such a beautiful day on saturday that after a bit of stressing about 24 hour coach rides with small children…..we thought…lets enjoy this extra day and strapped on the boards, thanks to mum and dad taking the kids shopping and had an awesome couple of hours on very empty slopes.
I discovered my absolute favourite run…a lovely red run called Mephisto….beautiful sweet broad run like a motorway…few people on it..not too much ice..it was lovely.
we caught up with mum and dad at the top once again and Mt Blanc was giving us a final farewell.
Then we rode down to meet mum, dad and the kids at the bottom. More mephisto…incredible..not a soul around, just how i love it.
it was such a gorgeous day too..so hot…the sun was so strong. We got to ride through a little canyon type thing, it was such a fabulous run, weather, everything. Ben, who has been riding switch for the past couple of days (riding the un-natural way for him) and managed to pull a little trick off a small kicker so he had a BIG smile on his face. Not too bad for a unexpected extra day.
Then it was back to the apartment and plan our strategies for coping with long journey home.
