Today was our official last full day of the hols….although obviously that turned out to be a bit different….but more on that later…
It was my mum and dad's wedding anniversary today and so the kids made them cards and went to wake them up with them! They (mum and dad)had already decided that they didnt want to ski today so we took the kids to their lesson and then headed off ourselves.
Ben was keen for the kids to ski to their lesson today which involved going down a not overly easy blue run that goes from our apartment block to the main ski area.
you can see that Poppy has no gloves and wore only her fleece..we had given up by that stage.
I think Ben and the kids were a bit more excited about it, i felt a bit nervous it was a little steep in places and the snow was really starting to thin out in places. But they all managed it well without mishap and set off for their last day in ski school.
Poppy had really scared herself on the button lifts so was very concerned about going on them again but the ski teacher decided to take them down a little run off to the back of the nursery area which didn't have a button tow..Woot! It was hard trying to explain to the teachers that she was absolutely fine with her skiing but just very nervous and upset about going on the button lifts….i cant say i blame her myself…
Anyway we set off and thanks to the sun after a few runs i could feel my confidence coming back a bit as the previous icy conditions had given it a bit of a knock.
We got back to see the girls get their medals and ski passports….and have a quick photo with their teachers..
and Isaac with his and Ben's buddy Jerome…
then we caught the large gondola after skiing down together with all the kids which was lovely..we have a bit of video which i will upload and link in. Its so great seeing their confidence, the girls doing little hops on their skis and heading off down whatever run with gusto. Isaac is just desperate to improve more, he watches everyone else and want to do it better and be better at skiing.
We had a lovely anniversary lunch with mum and dad and then came back down the mountain and headed back to the apartment for packing and more swimming….
Isaac's medal ceremony was at the resort accompanied by a very smoky bar-b-q.
We darted down to that and hung about for a bit to get some food and started to hear rumours that we wouldn't be leaving in the morning…when we got back to the apartments we discovered a letter from our tour operator…
and it looked like we had another adventure ahead…..
