when my girls got to part ways……these two…been together for a while now and are best friends. That sounds mushy and cutesy but Maisie said to me today as i was trying to get her excited that it was just 'mummy and her'…'but I miss Poppy, she is my best friend.' Awwwww…tears right? Well maybe a few…..
I would seriously recommend the age gap between these two, which was an 'at the time' incredibly short 15 months. But i havent seen many other young kid relationships like these two have. So anyway…
Tuesday saw the start of Poppy at pre school and Maisie at school….this picture is just outside the pre school and Poppy was raring to go in. It seemed very strange leaving her there and coming away with Maisie. Like I said, they have always done everything together. People have often commented that they are a bit like twins. I dont really agree. Twins are at the same developmental points at the same time. Poppy is not the same age as Maisie, she isnt the same school year, there are some things that she cannot do or actually understand but oh.my. does she ever want to do all the same as big sister. I dont think she thinks she is any different. Which is why this new adjustment in their relationship might be tough…
When we got home from pre-school and it was just me and her. She went all quiet and then suddenly she looked bereft and started to cry. I asked her if she was missing Maisie and she looked at me with a large amount of indignation on her face and said 'No! i'm missing Isaac!'…..
Not sure that i believe her…..
